Pretty good book, makes a good companion to the original Trailblazer book. The clarified stat blocks are much cleaner than the 3rd ed. originals. The backer monsters are kind of cool but I think I'd have trouble using them well. It doesn't spend as much time as I'd like on design notes, some of the math behind monsters, and perhaps most importantly some notes on what makes each creature unique. I was looking for something more like the original Trailblazer book (but for monsters) where it's chock full of changes, suggestions, and notes on what works and what doesn't.Product details
